In the basement as I write this I have Linpack cooking. This is the setup:
i7 4790k @4.5GHz VID = 1.19v, Vcore = 1.212v (software)
MB: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7
Ballistix 8GB ultra-low profile RAM in two sticks (2x4GB) at 1.35v
iGPU HD 4600 stock speed
PSU: Seasonic X-460FL (fanless)
System power: 120 +/- 1 Volt AC
LinX 0.6.5 running Linpack 11 (the one that has AVX2) at problem size = 26000/5178MB. It goes at about 186 GFlops.
Power draw as measured by a Kill-A-Watt peaks at 220 Watts.
Now this isn't very accurate, and I'm sure I could pull a few more Watts by choosing a somewhat larger problem size. But there's your magnitude for a modern system running flat out: less than 250W.
