Recently went from 970SLI to 290x CF, now AX850 too loud, any PSU recommendations?

Returned my 970 SLI setup and exchanged for a 290x CF due to the 3.5gb ram debacle. Satisfied on the 290x performance, but my AX850's fan now runs noisily trying to power the 600+ watt load when gaming



I was originally set on a 1000 watt corsair, but now looking at EVGA 1000 units. I was looking at the G2 1000 seeing how well it's rated here, but at 46db at 700 watts it looks like it's too loud for me. I'd also want a PSU that turns off the fan at low loads. Any recommendations that are affordable and quiet?



I noticed EVGA has a new 80 gold 1050 and there's a 1000 P2 and a new 1000 PS model. Which of those are good or should be looking at another brand/model? Thanks in advance.



I have a Asus Z97 Hero, 4790K o/c to 4.6, 16gb Ram, 3x3TB HDD, 2x256gb Samsung 840's, 2x290x cooled with H90's



PS what about a higher wattage unit than 1000? would it be quieter or would I just lose efficiency.
