2 sound outputs same

Hi,



The thing is with HDMI is not possible to have two sound outputs, HDMI transmits sound and image at the same time, I thought, with a splitter, connect to the motherboard the two sound outputs and instead of having an HDMI cable put an HDMI-to-DVI cable, which does not carry sound, image only.



This works almost certainly?



My question is: I will have quality loss HDMI vs HDMI-to-DVI cable?
