PSU for new pc

mardi 9 décembre 2014

Hi all, I want to buy a new pc because the laptop I'm currently using is getting old and has overheating issues, plus some broken ports. It has done its job good for the past 5 years but it's really time for a new pc.

I will be using the pc for work (translating program which works on laptop without much problems) and for gaming. The games I usually play are MMORPGS but I do play some shooters occasionally like the Bioshock series. The pc will be placed in the living room so I would like it to be moderately silent. I will be building it myself, it will be the first time but from what I've read it shouldn't be too hard. Otherwise I could always ask a friend for help.

The parts for the pc are basically set, I will be going for the following setup:

CPU: i5-4460

MoBo: Asrock b85m Pro4

GPU: r9 280 (Sapphire or Gigabyte version)

RAM: 2x4GB low profile ram (whichever is cheapest at point of purchase)

SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB

Case: Cooler Master Silencio 352

CPU Cooler: Scythe Tatsumi

Monitor: BenQ VW2245Z 1920x1080p

I might add a 1GB HDD later for extra storage.

For the PSU I'm not sure which one to get, since cable management might be an issue with the case I was wondering if it would be beneficial to get a modular PSU in regards to a non-modulair PSU. I guess a 400-450W PSU should be enough to power this setup, so I had the following PSU's in mind:

Modular

Cooler Master G450M

Be Quiet! PurePower L8 430W CM

Non-modular

Seasonic S12II 430W Bronze

I know the Seasonic is of the best quality, but I'm afraid cable management will be hard with the chosen case. What would you recommend?

I will be purchasing the components from this website, if there is another PSU you might recommend from here please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
