Good Afternoon! I go by NoStall and have finally registered for this forum having followed and quoted johnnyGURU.com for several years now.
Just saved the PC (an older pre-built HP) of the father of a close friend from possible sudden death: I convinced him to replace the following;
E-TECK 350watt PSU. The label on the side of the case showing the power on the rails and the name and total power is the ONLY label or notation on this PSU. Google turns up one for sale for $20 (too much money) and a group of 5 for a total of $24.
The unit ways about a pound, and looks very similar to the first "Death of a Gutless Wonder" that was reviewed by Oklahomawolf in '08:

Pretty good chance it took a hard drive out a couple weeks ago, but the unit itself didn't fail. I only have a multi-meter to check voltage and all three rails were nearly over or were over ATX spec and fluctuated while I was checking them (No load other then a PCPowerCooling PSU tester, psu was not attached to the computer.
Just would kinda like to know who makes this piece of s@#%. He was charged $50 by a local shop (NOT Geek Squad !) plus labor when he replaced what he thought was a failed OEM psu.
I replaced it with a Seasonic S12II- SSR-350ST. He is Not a gamer.
