Though it is far-fetched, so is reality. I created this thread to inspire science, reality and anime into young minds for a better definition of realistic anime that maybe someday, the anime developers will consider useful. All you geeks who love science and love anime are very welcomed to join!
My first attempt:
(ATTACK ON TITANS)
Watching the first season, inspired a lot of ideas but not much explanations.
To me after gathering some facts about the show,
- Giants seem to be light after death and the weight of an entire arm could be carried by a single human.
- An abnormal giant can be varied, the most interesting ones are fused with a human inside and expand outwards
- Special Giants also have other morphing abilities
- All giants die after cutting deep enough at the nape of the neck
The science:
Giants are essentially human but with the extra ability to play with Einstein's General Relativity. Note that nothing is moving, only spacetime is expanding which incurs gravity.
If one was able to manipulate space (or dark energy in quantum mechanics) between molecules and atoms to expand at a much faster rate than the expansion of the universe but within the same properties that cause the expansion of the universe in the first place, then one would:
- Appear to be larger, denser and morph properties of atoms into different states
such as Ice, Steam or liquid (Earth's habitable state)
Special Giants need to be hurt to transform
- To influence space around you, it must be connected to you, that is if space can be touched or exposed to your molecules. All one needs, is an adrenal gland that secretes hormones that allows molecules to influence dark energy by adding a bridge (aka protein receptor that binds with molecular atom of dark energy particles).
- You need to be hurt so that the adrenal gland secretes in a flight or fight state which explains the mental state of most giants, be it will or terror.
Dead by the sword through the nape of the neck:
- Giants are large and regenerative as the hormones are in turbo mode when they achieve this state. No humans can hold a sword as big enough and wield it to severe an entire titan limb. The only way is to cut deep enough quick.
- Why deep enough? The answer? The spinal cord. The most exposed area of the spinal cord will be at the nape of the neck which only reachable deep enough. Remember, the giants are expanded versions of ourselves most filled with space then matter. This means the vertebrae are exposed as the distance between them is larger. The front of the neck is protected by hyoid bone and other structures, however the back of the neck is only protected by muscles and soft tissue before reaching the vertebrae which has a good area to penetrate through into the spinal chord.
