AVS enabled prime95 (I know, I know!) will trip off the OCP at default 30A!
Could not believe it, not even a serious oc/ov either: 5960X at 4.3 1.25V, Titan X stock, 64GB DDR4 at 2666. That's it, even full stress 100CPU/GPU load won't turn the fan on this incredible PSU. About 525W in...
But the CPU 12V power (connected to PCIe-1A) hits a peak of about 31A which is enough to trip the OCP and click boom off the system!
I freaked out at first.
Using Asus X99 Deluxe. You know the one that tends to go poof?!
Anyway, slid it to 40A, no problem-o.
If I uncheck OCP on all will it really be wide open, aka like a traditional single rail CPU?
So if my cat chews on a sata power cable and it shorts out will it be like the white Persian in Christmas Vacation?
