MSI 970 gaming board upgrade ?

hello all,

i am new to the forums... and my pc knowledge has some what abandoned me..

my specs are

AMD FX-8350 @ 4Ghz
GIGABYTE GA-78-LMT USB3 R2
MSI TwinFrozr AMD R9-290X
32gb 1600MHz RAM
EVGA supernova G2 850w PSU

NOTHING HAS BEEN OVERCLOCKED
...........

issue i had to start with, was when i upgraded to the XFX R9-290X from an XFX 6670, i had nothing but MCE stating amd northbridge issues, causing either, crashing or forced reboots with no bluescreen.. so at first i RMA'd both my xfx unit and original aerocool 850w =- both bought at same time -=and the store happily swapped them for the MSI and EVGA units, but the MCE issues persisted untill i selected force constant voltage and had to constantly have gpu set at 1000MHz or more via AFTERBURNER.


my question is, will upgrading from a 760G chipset to a 970 chipset cure this issue ? =- not had issue since forcing the mentiong settings -= as i do plan on having a 2-way X-fire set up in my RIG
