power supply problem.

dimanche 1 mars 2015

OK I have a power supply I built myself to run a 10 meter amplifier I also built my self. I am using a peter Dahl transformer, 50v 1000A bridge rectifiers and q 180000uF cap and it runs great . can actually get 105A load on it!

Problem !

The unit has 3 stage output voltage. 13.?, 14.? And 17.?volt out. I am using the 13 and 14 for 2 stages of output with a 3 way toggle switch. I am getting 21.9 and 18.9v out! I need a d 13.8 to 16.9v out. How can I lower than voltage and why did it jump from 13.? To 18.9v and 14.? To 21.? v.

Any help would be great! I was told mute bridge rectifiers placed inline with would drop it. I want a second opinion. Thx.
