Can you recommend me a better PSU?

Hi there. First time building a PC, intended for gaming. Currently waiting for my GPU and MOBO to arrive and come to learn my current PSU is tier 3 (new stuff to me) and apparently has fairly bad and mediocre results. This worries me.



PSU I have currently (unopened and still within 30 day return policy from what I know) Corsair CX750M. Also the review made me decide to part ways with this PSU. Truthfully I bought it blindly because everyone I know, who does know about computers ensured m Corsair was a great brand.



My build is currently:

CPU:Intel Core i5-4690 Processor (6M Cache, 3.90 GHz)



GPU:ASUS STRIX-GTX970



MOBO:ASUS ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards H97-PLUS



RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM



HDD: Black 1TB : 3.5-inch, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB



Also if you have any recommendations to my build I am new to this and still learning open to suggestions! I am currently aware my MOBO can only handle 1600MHz RAM, but due to my budget I found the current MOBO worked best. I was also told that putting a higher clocked RAM into my MOBO would not hurt anything, merely just clock to the max it can handle.



Like I said still learning this stuff, so please inform me!



Two PSUs I am looking at buying are the EVGA 750W OR 850W G2 GOLD (Why is the 1,000W G2 version of this type cheaper?) Am I missing something here?

EDIT: I might upgrade GPU or SLI in future so figure more power can't hurt right?



Also I plan to add a SSD at some point as well if that makes a considerable difference?
