I searched the forums and didn't find a topic for this. The manga recently got a live action announcement.

There are currently 18 chapters and ongoing at the moment including an update from last week. Anyone else read this before? It has an interesting premise imo involving time travel and shoujo themes with relationship building in particular with the main characters. Artwork is fairly decent and tolerable comedy and interesting characters. Here's the main premise of it:

Random questions about New York mannerisms

Hi guys

I'm currently writing a fantasy story, and one of the characters is from New York (Queens specifically) and I'm trying to describe her accent... thing is I live pretty far away from New York so it's hard to check it against reality!

I assume there some real New York natives prowling these forums, any tips on making her the way she speaks ring more true? Also are there any other mannerisms I could use to make her seem more real... and stereotypes to avoid like the plague?

So I recently have started to look for manga that are somewhat simmilar to Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, for those who do not know the series I'll also listwhat I liked about the series, wich is the criteria for mangas I'm looking for:
- Obviously it shouldn't drag on
- Preferable if it's already finished, though I'm not averse to ongoing series.
- It should preferably involve supernatural elements, like the time travel mechanic in Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, but it doesn't have to necessarily be time travel, it could be any supernatural gimmick.
- Romance is prefered, though I'm also not against manga without romantic themes.
- There has to be a central mistery that is the driving force for the manga.
- The prefered demographic is seinen, though if you consider the series is good enough it can even be shounen or whatever genre
I know the criteria is somewhat specific, but I trust people here will be able to suggest something worthy :heh:

Hi guys. So I started a translation group that focuses on subtitling popular youtube channels from Japan (yasub.com). We're looking to expand our team of 3 translators so that we can sub more interesting videos. If you look at our archives, we have subtitled around ~30 trending Japanese youtube videos so far on a weekly basis. We're not looking for a rigorous time commitment here, but rather we look for people who are interested in contributing whenever and how often they want to.



How it Works
The site, yasub.com, includes an online subtitle editor that lets you subtitle anyone's youtube video. Basically, once we pick a video, we subtitle it, publish it, release it to our subscribers and around the web for others to comment on. Then we also send the link to the youtube owners so that they can include the subtitle in the original video.

Rules:
1. Short clips only. Video duration must be < 5 minutes.
2. No anime/tv show clips (except for vocaloid/mmd)
3. No hardsubs and no reencoding of subs into a new video and re-uploading it to youtube. (we want to respect the original youtube owner's work and give the subs back to them)

China Punishes Video Sharing Sites for Obscene Content

The Chinese Ministry of Culture announced on Tuesday that it will "punish" several internet companies for allegedly hosting animated series that contain violence and pornography. Some of the websites and companies implicated include Baidu Inc's iQiyi, Sohu.com Inc., Tencent, Leshi Internet Information & Technology Corp Beijing (LeTV), and Youku Tudou. The offending material consists primarily of anime, including Blood-C, Highschool of the Dead, and Terror in Resonance. According to the Ministry of Culture, these series have been blacklisted because they "include scenes of violence, pornography, terrorism and crimes against public morality." Though sites above are only suspected of hosting the content, the Ministry of Culture stated that it will punish the sites according to law. The Ministry of Culture did not specify what form the punishment would take. Hello again everyone, i inquired on a previous posting i made about a powersupply for an older computer, however after calculations of my system the modern psu's total 3.3v/5v output was too low for what my system needs.For those who may not know Tigerdirect.com retail stores are shutting down all but one are on liquidation( the last remaining store is in miami,fl where the main hq offices arein.. and is also the largest, however tigerdirect tends to be more expensive but is good for a quick something during a build) all power supplies in liquidation stores are 50% off so i purchased a Corsair CX750M for 50 dollars and the titles power supply an Ultra LSP 550 watt series, i know they are crappy, however this power supplies weight is heavy so it's not an undersized board, it does have anodia caps, and some taicon's,one teapo, jun fu's,sus'con however it does have what i need a heavy 3.3v/5v 190 watts which is what i need however i know it's an old computer, and it's probably never going to hit 300 watts in use, but i would appreciate suggestions is this a ok power supply to use considering the processor/motherboard age almost 13-14 years old are there any other suggestions on what to use that is 3.3v/5v heavy and at least a bit reliable, (i am still using my thermaltake xaser III 480 watt PS which is 5v heavy and is all teapo caps which is still going strong but i need another for another system)

Hello, I stumbled on this site by chance, but I believe you will be able to help me out. I'm building an ultimate retro gaming PC to cover DOS/Win95/Win98 games. Here's the config:

Even though I'm making a retro PC, I don't care to make it look authentic, as you can see I'm going to use a modern case. And so, I also want to use a good modern power supply too. I first thought I'll go with Seasonic Platinum 400W Fanless, which I thought is powerful enough and really high quality, but after a closer look, on the 3.3V and 5V rails it only has 20A/20A and 100W combined, and as far as I know those old machines do use the 3.3V and 5V rails quite a lot. I tried looking at what other power supplies are up for sale and their stats, and I couldnt find one with satisfying stats in the shops around here. Is there even any modern unit that provides plenty of power on the 3.3V and 5V rails? I have an old Point Of View Black Diamond 500W lying around, that according to its stats provides 34A on the 3.3V and 40A on the 5V rails, with combined 250W. But it makes a weird noise, and was a pretty cheap unit, I dont think it's even 80+ certified, since I bought it quite cheap.

Which model would you recommend? If possible one with Platinum or at least Gold certification :) Thanks in advance!

So here's a neat Chinese comic I've been following for a while now. Basically, it's about a cop who ends up getting involved in supernatural cases once he gains the ability to interact with the spirit world. The description might sorta remind you of Yu Yu Hakusho at first, but it definitely has its own style. Also, it has a pretty distinctive art style that's closer to One Piece than anything (heck, one of the main characters even strongly resembles Doflamingo....). Now that we're a few chapters in, I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for it! I already checked some raws a few chapters ahead of the translations and the action's definitely starting to pick up! Can't wait for the translations to catch up so I can actually understand what everyone's saying though, heh. :heh:

Enermax Platimax issue : serious ?

Hello everyone,

I registered on Jonnyguru 'cause it seems like it's the go-to place for everything power supply and I'm in dire need of help / information / advice from all the pundits out there :)

So, long story short, I bought a brand new Enermax platimax 1350w in late Januray, installation went well. At the time, I hadn't really pushed it, only used the PC to work and some very light gaming, so the load on the monster was fairly limited.
Three days ago, I received my final graphics cards (2 GTX980) and my Philips BDM4065UC, 4k 40" screen. When I started playing demanding titles on the PC in SLI with all the details crancked up, the PC started to make a rattling and hissing sound that really got me worried. I inspected the tower to try and see where it came from, it comes from the power supply. The noise is really distracting and frackly, to me at least, it feels like something is really wrong down there. I tried to determine whether it was the fan, but I don't think it is, sounds more like an electrical thing.

It doesn't do any of this under low load, only when the load ramps up, so does the noise.

I posted this simply because I looked back I the old DDR games and noticed several of their tracks made in AMV style. The first one that came to mind is Polavitsian Dances, which did the game Over Zenith/Sword of Etheria. I think they did the same for the Sky Girls OVA and it's OP song.

Looking for a seinen Light Novel

Hey, I'm new here and right now I'm searching for a novel, which is more seinen like.

1.) The MC has to be strong (OP would be nice to, but just "strong" is good enough)

2.) In the light novel, there has to be killing. The MC should also kill people and not be an idiot who always screams "I'm going to save everyone, dattebayo!"

3.) Some romance between a female and the MC has to be there! I don't care if it's a harem or not, but romance has to be there. Sorry, I like that kind of stuff:rolleyes:

4.) I'm not a fan of rape, so please without that (Well, rape can happen in the story but please not to the main characters. I can't handle a second *SPOILER* "rape of caska"

Too Old?: Michael H Fanfiction

I haven't written any fanfiction in a while and am hopefully out of touch. I still have an FF.net page, but haven't posted to it in years. I'm wondering if I should try to change that.

I've been mulling over a Hidamari Sketch continuation fic for some time, but have barely set fingers to keyboard on it. This despite having made a fairly extensive outline.

This of course assumes that anyone would want to read it -- but should I even be thinking about such things? Should a guy in his early fifties not be doing this sort of thing anymore?

Recommended wireless bridges for TV?

Hey, guys.

I'm thinking of hooking up my smart TV to my home network. A wired connection is out of the question since I would have to drill some holes between floors, which is something I want to avoid lol. So the next best thing is a wireless connection. I plan on getting a wireless bridge so I can connect my tv to it and receive connectionz from the network.

My router is on the second floor on one side of the house, while my TV is on the first floor of the opposite side of the house. There's around 50 ft. in horizontal distance between the two.

I'm currently using an Asus RT N66U router, and I can get a good wifi signal from any point in my house. I was thinking of getting this TP LINK TL WR702N N150. Do you guys think this would be a decent enough device?

I'm also up for any other recommendations (as long as they're not too expensive)! Thanks for reading.

A Webnovel To Translate?

After scouring Syosetuka Ni Narou for a forever-and-half (on tags such as 'Reincarnation', 'Summoning', 'Brave', etc), I didn't really find anything that caught my interest.

So does anyone have a webnovel that they want translated?

Don't expect anything professional though, it's just me attempting with four Machine Translations to get cobble-up something more tolerable to read.

Preferably recommend something that already isn't someone else's project and at least a sentence why you find that webnovel enjoyable.

Lite-On, SFF PSUs, and Questionable caps

Hey guys, thinking about asking about this over at badcaps as well, but think I'll start here. I work in IT for a moderate size hospital (~2000 users). I've been here since last summer, and we've been working on upgrading a lot of old computers to new Windows 7 ones. They are a mix of Dell Optiplex 390, 3010, and now 3020 SFFs (depending on when they were purchased). I was looking at one tonight and took a look in the vent with a flash light, and was able to see it is made by Lite-On, looks like the secondary caps are SamXon, and the primary filter cap is an Elite cap. It is fan cooled, but the exhaust coming out of this little PSU is pretty warm. I know OkW was saying good OEMs can get good life out of even questionable caps, but how far does that extend?

How much I wonder, can be done when you are dealing with a size constraint (SFF, PSU is very long and narrow) and questionable caps. I know Lite-On is a huge manufacturer of Power supplies, but it seems like they stick to OE stuff and don't really seem to make anything you'd find off the shelf like Delta, or Chicony.

I have flashbacks to the days of the GX620 power supply plague, and shudder.

Problem Problem with registering

I am using windows 8.1, Mozilla, Opera, Chrome, and I could not register because I could not see validation image form. I tried with different browser and I tried it on my laptop and desktop computer. Then I tried to register through my mobile device and I succeeded. My conclusion is that it has problems with certificate on windows 8.1.

Resume from standby - Power Good signal problem?

I have a Corsair HX520 PSU that I purchased for a new PC build approximately 6 years ago, from memory so could be slightly out but it is now out of warranty. I have built two systems using this PSU, the most recent just over a year ago.

None of the built systems has been 100% stable! The main problem has been returning from standby where it can be fine for many standby/resume cycles but once every week or two it fails to resume. I don't think this has anything to do with windows because brand new windows installs and old windows show the same problem. Disabling power saving does show some improvement, reducing the resume failures but not eliminating them entirely.

The voltages seem to be stable, the motherboard sensor readings and molex power plug readings via a multimeter.

I did read somewhere that some of these Corsair HX models did have a problem with the power good signal and I am wondering whether this could be causing the problems that I have experienced.

Does anyone know and can you shed any light on this?

I am thinking about replacing the PSU if it solves these problems but don't want to spend money if it does not help.

My wifes motherboard recently died. So since I am going to be replacing the mobo, it got me thinking about the PSU. It is a Seasonic S12 430, and has been in use since about 2005. I haven't had any problems with it (that I know of), but I'm thinking maybe its time to be retired? What do you guys think?

I'd like to know, if I put a Playstation 3, or someday, a Playstation 4, in this spot...would it be safe for the system, or might it be at risk of overheating?

There is about 5 inches of open space to each side if positioned right in the center. The back is wide open and the back of the console is about 5 or 6 inches from the opening.

Hi all,

I was refer by another member from Anandtech regarding power supplies but wanted to post here on GPUs.

I am looking to save my PC and not buy a new one if that is possible for a new UHD monitor I looking at!

PC: Lenovo 58P - E8400 CPU, 8GB, SSD, Radeon R6570 1GB RAM low profile PCIe X 16 graphic card slot with on one space;(to the left is the assembly for HD), 280 watt PS. The machine part # is: 7483-XB4

New display: Dell 24 UltraHD 4K Monitor - P2415Q 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.


Need to find a UHD graphic card to run it and have it be limited to $100 or less. Otherwise, I going with a new top of line i7 4790 PC and use HD 4600 controller using display port to drive it.

Apparently a new/the first chapter will be released within the next day, so...Naruto 2: The Reckoning is upon us. Come once more to the Land of...whatever the Naruto world is called and experience a new generation of bad fart jokes and ramen-based humour. Become overjoyed as we finally see Kakashi and Gai's wedding (and subsequent adoption of Rock Lee). Be thrilled as Menma, Naruto twin brother, appears and tries to steal away Hinata. Is he the real father? Only time will tell...And finally, be heartbroken as it is confirmed that Sarada is actually Karin's kid sneaked into Sakura (because chakra and Sharingan).
