Spoiler for Synopsis for fortissimo:

Reiji is a typical student on the remote southwest island of Tsukuyomi-jima. However, due to an unexpected event where his life was in danger, he awakened as the 13th magical summoner. After summoning the spirit and magical super-weapon Sakura, she gifts him with the special ability "Da Capo", which allows him to summon anyone who he met in the past 24 hours or reverts items back to its previous state (up to 24 hours ago). Now they must participate in a battle they cannot avoid.

It has been six months since the battle royale, Ragnarok, had ended. Reiji and his group of friends are now peacefully living through their normal daily lives. However, such peace is short-lived, as a group of eight individuals have arrived to Tsukiyomi-jima Island who call themselves the "Seventh Chord". Their single goal was to bring about justice to the world by ridding all the Mahoutsukai in existence of their magic. With their scientific weapons called 'Miracle', they have waged war with the thirteen Mahoutsukai. Another mythical war has unraveled upon the human race.

For newcomers who have no idea which version of fortissimo play, considering its 'long' history of releases, here's a short, condensed description of each version:

September 2010 - Akkord:Bsusvier: Incomplete story that leaves the readers on a massive cliffhanger with no voices at all.
March 2011 - EXA//Akkord:Bsusvier: Contained only Sakura's route. Every character, including the protagonists, were voiced and new CGs were added. A patch was released around one week after EXA's release date to add in an epilogue to the story.
June 2012 - EXS//Akkord:nächsten Phase: Full release with all three routes (Sakura, Momiji, and Sayuki) with three new characters. Everything from EXA, including the epilogue patch, was included in this version. There will be a re-release of this version at the end of June 2015, so newcomers should probably pick that one up.
December 2013 - FA//Akkord:nächsten Phase: 15+ re-release of EXS that removes all the H-scenes from EXS, as well as censoring some of the non-H CGs with nudity in them.

Is UPS putting out simulated sine wave when AVR is active ?

Hi,

I have a question for you guys.

I own this UPS http://ift.tt/1GOujAr (can select english in top right corner of page) for some time but recently i've moved to another apartment witch doesn't seem to have very stable power, the UPS AVR seems to kick in quite often and stays on for hours at a time, this never happened in my old apartment.

The LCD display shows ~243 incoming V and ~207 output so i am guessing it considers 243V to high and lowers it down to 207.

My question now is, when this is happening, when the AVR is active, does the UPS put out the same simulated sine wave that it does when running on battery ? or does it simply lower the voltage and provide the normal sine wave (pure?) that's coming out of the power socket ?.

Your thoughts on this are welcome, thank you :)

Regarding ADV dub

I've just watched the ADV dub of Ghost Stories. In a nutshell, it's no more than an Abridged version. However, as I made a bit of research on the net, ADV has both praises and denouncements (Evangelion and Welcome to NHK seem to be the best ones). So, as inexperience with dub as I am, I want to know about the inconsistency of ADV dub. Are they good, average, bad, or leaving it to the wild?

Has the Tsundere character type shifted a bit?

Perhaps fittingly, I've long been tsundere towards tsunderes. :heh:

I felt I had some understanding of them, but I couldn't honestly say that I get tsunderes. Until, perhaps, very recently. Thanks to one very special character - Love Live!'s Maki Nishikino

Before continuing, you should know that this post will contain some slight implied Love Live! and UBW spoilers.


Maki is the first tsundere that completely resonated with me, as a tsundere. In other words, I could completely get why she's a tsundere, and why "tsundere" is appealing to many anime fans. Specifically, Maki did slightly abrasive shy denialism to complete perfection. At no point did I feel like her more abrasive moments could be taken at complete face value, figuratively speaking. I say "figuratively speaking", because Maki's face never failed to betray the desires and attachments behind the moments of slight abrasiveness. :heh:

But as much as Maki resonated with me like this, I wasn't sure how much importance to give to this, since Love Live! has no major male characters of note. Maki wasn't tsundere towards a guy, so maybe she's something of an unusual case within the archetype?

But then I watched UBW, and saw much the same with Rin Tohsaka as I saw with Maki. Rin Tohsaka's interactions with Shirou resonated with me in much the same way as Maki's interactions with the rest of μ's did. In both cases, the shy denialism consistently came across well.


One thing I notice with both Rin and Maki - Very minimal violence towards the people they like (what violence Rin gets into of this nature has a practical and understandable motivation behind it). And they don't run "hot and cold" so much as they have a consistent temperament of slight abrasiveness. They're more saucy than downright nasty, you could say. They're quite different from what I'm use to seeing with the KugRie tsundere.


So this has me wondering - Are tsunderes shifting a bit? Is it now more about shy denialism and consistently slightly abrasive temperament, then violent mood swings and/or actual violence?

To be fair, I watch very little harem anime, and I'd imagine that this anime genre is where a lot of tsunderes continue to show up. So it's possible that Rin and Maki are outliers, even recently. So that's one reason why I put up this thread. I'd like to get the takes of other anime fans based on a wider range of anime.

Is what I'm seeing in Rin and Maki reflective of modern tsunderes in general? Or are modern tsunderes more KugRie-esque?

Also feel free to discuss what "tsundere" means to you. What you think are the most important elements of the character type. And which tsunderes you like the best.

A story jam-packed with mixed stuffs resulted into absurdly awesome story. The setting of the story borrows many element from Wavering Mythology (Yuragi no Shinwa). Thus, this story could be categorized as a derivative work. Not having any knowledge about the referenced works (which is a project of fanmade myth) doesn't reduce the enjoyment of reading this.

The main character is a 45 year old salaryman who dies in a train accident. He along with 30~ other people who died in the accident are reincarnated into a world of swords and magic.

The amount of time they get to ask questions is based on the order of who levels up a skill first in the new world they're all reincarnated into as babies.

Thanks to his initial 18 minutes of question time and use of his abilities, his growth speed is absurd, he becomes considerably overpowered in terms of magic. Though he puts a lot of effort into maintaining it through developments. He also has to level up separately from constant training.

No. Though there is room for it be to harem, for the time being there's a solid single heroine with development.

There's a reasonable update pace with breaks every so often. The chapters are reasonably long as well.

This is one my favorites plot and development wise. It has a good balance of everything, as well as a level/skill system. The developments start from when the characters are born as well as multiple view points. (Other characters are mostly shown in side chapters)

The main character doesn't have much personality at the start... He's literally just a guy, from the middle of nowhere.

He can use some magic, has a ton of mana, his new body has considerably high physical capabilities, and he gets the death scythe/griffon/some other magic items left in the house by the magician. His initial rank strength equivalent would probably be about B (Seto is A rank monster), though they both power up over time. (He still has to start from the lowest rank as an adventurer and there's no real method for skipping ranks in this story)

No? The main character is hetare, there's a primary female lead that has mutual interest in the MC, though the development is slow. There's some other female characters that have interest in the MC, though he doesn't show any interest and stays focused on the heroine for the most part. May change with some of the more recent developments.

One chapter everyday since like 2013, leading to 650+ chapters. The pace is a bit slow, but there's a lot of developments and it's a pretty good all around adventure series.

The unique aspect of scythe as main weapon and his partner being a Griffon is unusual as well.

Slice of life anime with mixed-gender cast?

Hey there. I'm looking for a comedy/slice of life anime (like K-On! or Lucky Star) that has a mixed-gender cast.

But with the only condition that I don't want it to have any kind of romance/romcom elements amongst the main cast.

I've noticed that most comedy/slice of life anime that include characters of both genders tend to devolve into harem (if there's only one guy and multiple girls) or have a lot of romcom antics. Honestly, I find a lot of anime's heavy reliance on romcom antics for comedy stale and boring. So nothing like Acchi Kocchi, please.

Ideally I'd like an anime that focuses on the strong friendship between the main characters (specifically between members of the opposite gender). Like a K-On with a mixed-gender cast, or something close to that.

A good example of what I would want is Sket Dance (if it were more slice of life-y and less hyper, I mean :heh:) in the sense that all 3 main characters are really close, but there's not even a hint of romance.

I don't mind ship tease here and there, as long as it stays as subtext.

EVGA B2 850w review

Just like to say howdy, decided to poke my head in over here and and possibly interject a comment here and there.

I wanted to make a suggestion for a review, not that you needed any, but it would be nice to see a retail review of the EVGA B2 850w and Corsair CX 850w unit's since the claims on them are so high. Considering the meh results of prior CX models I'm skeptical of the claims on the CX and the B2 850w doesn't seem to have a reputable, or any any other kind of review so far as I can see. I know it's a pared down version of the G2 Golden green platform but considering the B2 750w had a few checkmarks against it, although an outstanding unit, it would be nice to see how the 850w unit rates.

Concerning the CX 850w unit, it seems to have scored exceptionally high for a model series that has traditionally been somewhat lower in quality. As quoted from elsewhere:
